Jul 4 Happy 4th, Y'all!

Freedom Isn't Free

It's not often we talk too much about our actual lives outside of where we are going and what we are wearing, but this throwback pic today is going to touch a little more on my actual day to day, totally un-fancy and fairly boring life. The photo below is the last Independence Day I was able to spend with my husband in 2015. (If that sounds dramatic, consider that we haven't celebrated either of our birthdays, any sort of anniversary, or several big holidays in the same room, let alone same state or country in almost three years.)

Oddly enough he was only here for this photo because it was right after we got married in VEGAS. (Totally American of us!) {Insert all the crazy emojis here} He left a few days after this parade and party to start his current tour on the U.S.S. George H. W. Bush based out of Norfolk, Virginia but currently somewhere outside of Israel. (AND if you want to see what they are up to currently, click here.) Although we've seen each other a handful of times since then, this was the last time we lived a somewhat normal life. Well at least what most of you consider to be normal.

My super stellar husband is in the Navy so he is always out and about and has been for the better part of the last two and a half years. Don't get me wrong, we signed up for this life but some days it stinks.

Today, I'd have loved to force my husband and dog to match, but we didn't have that option. (2018 we are coming for you!) I only write about it today because right now a lot of people seem to be torn between politics and patriotism in America, and that is slightly disheartening to many people, but especially to me.

So without sounding like I'm standing on a red, white and blue soap box I just wanted to shoot out a quick reminder that if you don't hear from me for a week or so at times...or I look frazzled in person...or you see me out at dinner alone...or sometimes catch me rambling on incessantly without realizing it initially...it is because I spend a lot of time talking to my Amazon Echo and dog instead of my husband. AND people like him serving are why we are all able to be here rocking flags in every type of style imaginable. :-)

Happy Independence Day, Babes! Who doesn't love to celebrate the 4th these days? With all the amazing USA inspired style it is so easy to be fabulously creative with your red, white and blue style.
