Bulldog Fans Are Babes Too - The Georgia Guide to Football Fashion for FL/GA 2016 - October 29, 2016

Blogging is Biased...But We Tried Not to be this Time

Stephanie and Kimberly scheming at Southern Grounds in Neptune Beach before we did a quick photo shoot.

Babes, listen. I'll be honest. Writing this is tough. Kimberly and I are die-hard Gator fans. But we also love our fashion. And Jacksonville. And excuses to drink wine. So when we gathered in the name of the #BorrowedBlog and brainstormed ideas for our big Florida vs. Georgia party we realized we needed to highlight the awesome style we see every year. After putting together about 4,568 ensembles for Gator Girls we realized we were missing something. THE ENTIRE OTHER HALF OF THE GAME. Aka Georgia Girls. And y'all...those ladies can dress. They always look stylish and chic.

Our next problem was choosing who to pose as a Georgia fan for the shoot. Well, my extended family is all from Southern Georgia and big time Georgia Bulldog fans. I grew up watching some gorgeous ladies travel to Jacksonville each year dressed to the nine in their best red and black and thought well I may be the best candidate for this unfortunate job. SO I decided to be the bigger person...both literally and figuratively and dress myself in red and black. You'll notice we did not actually include their logo anywhere. We are committed to the fashion cause but we won't cross the line into team treason. Also, let's be realistic here. My favorite everyday fashion pairings lean heavily into the black, white, red, gray, metallic category so I had no shortage of options.

One of my favorite sites every year during the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is to see the even split inside Everbank field. Maybe it is the OCD in me, but I love this split.

Georgia Fans...we know many of you have a keen sense of Southern Style so we did our best to research and interpret our version of it. Give us your feedback. What do you wear to every game? Leave us a comment below! (Unless it's mean and hateful and involves the words jorts. Keep that to yourself, please.)

Give 'Em the Cold Shoulder

So as it turns out, you won't have to this weekend, but we prepped an outfit for you just in case. Or maybe you get lucky and have a fancy seat in a booth with some air conditioning. Then you may need this idea. If not, just pretend.

Shine Bright Like a Diamond

No matter who you route for there is never a wrong way to add team bling to the mix. Even though we aren't rocking any team specific pieces in the photos below, TRUST US, there are some amazing local designers doing awesome team color jewels. This dressier combo was put together based on my childhood memories of the Georgia women I saw at games. Long before I was in college and dressing up for football games became popular again, Florida somewhere lost its dressy vibe. I was a team tee and jeans kind of fan. Then I attended my first FL/GA match up. I saw so many dresses, skirts, heels, maxis, midis, etc. one well dressed Georgia women. I knew they knew how to dress. This look is almost head to toe Rent the Runway. (Our obvious fave Borrowed Babe...) But you can purchase very similar looks to own as well.
